William Woodsend Memorial Homes, Derby Road
Until earlier this year, the building was virtually hidden behind a screen of trees and tall shrubs, but can now be seen in its full form.
The group of 6 almshouses was founded by local builder William Woodsend in 1913. The original charity ran out of funds in 2007, since when the homes have been in the care of the Nottingham Community Housing Association.

Fanum House (former AA offices) on Derby Road
When I came to live in Nottingham in the late 1970s, this was still the regional offices of the Automobile Association (AA). The AA used the name Fanum House for most of its offices, Fanum being the call sign of the Association. Currently the NEMS Treatment Centre.
