Thomas Helwys Baptist Church, Lenton
The church was built when the area was redeveloped around 1970. Thomas Helwys was a Nottingham man who was one of the founders of the General Baptist movement in the early 17th century. He was the subject of religious persecution and died in prison in 1616. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Helwys

Flats upright and flat
Perhaps not quite flat, but not standing. The pile in the foreground is the ruins of Digby Court, one of the five towers of the Willoughby Street Estate. These are being demolished piecemeal, to be replaced by a mixture of houses and flats. Behind are Abbey Court and Newgate Court.

Royal Naval Association Club (formerly The Happy Return)
It is fairly rare to find a closed pub returned to something like its original use. This used to be an estate pub, The Happy Return, built as part of the Willoughby Street re-development of the mid-1960s (much of which has already disappeared). The other pub from that era, the 17th/21st Lancers is now a Tesco. The Happy Return closed in December 2009.

Lenton: Mettham Street
A street of typical Nottingham terraced houses, off Lenton Boulevard. The family of Albert Ball VC, the Great War air ace, lived briefly in Mettham Street before moving up in the world and settling in a grand house in The Park Estate (Image]). Albert Ball's statue is in the grounds of Nottingham Castle - see Image] and Image] - and The Albert Ball Memorial Homes nearby, on Church Street (Image] and Image]).
