Grove Road, Lenton, Nottingham
This huge Victorian pub that dates from 1886 dominates this corner site between Grove Road (a cul-de-sac but with pedestrian access to Lenton Lane via a 600 metre thoroughfare) and the much busier Castle Boulevard with the A6005 ahead. Although currently boarded-up, plans have been submitted (November 2020) to convert the site into 27 one and two bedroom social housing apartments for key workers by adding a modern extension.

The Grove is scaffolded
Closed for many years (see Image taken 11 years and two days previously). The building faced demolition. I believe it is now to be converted.

The pub is for sale: the selling agents provide the following location description:
The Grove public house is situated on Castle Boulevard, an
arterial route leading from the city centre of Nottingham
forming the A6005. The Grove is situated at the junction of
Lenton Boulevard which forms the A6130, approximately one
mile south west of the city centre.

Since I last took this five years ago - Image - there's been little change to the building but it is now passed by a "Cycle Super Highway"

The end of the line for The Grove?
I've heard that a plan to extend on convert the building has fallen-though and a fully new build is now on the cards.
