Just below the castle. Old caves litter this edifice. I recommend the tour.

Gates on Peveril Drive, Nottingham
The gates mark the entrance to the private Park Estate. In terms of being a practical traffic barrier they have been superseded by the rising bollards Image

Offices on Peveril Drive
Would originally been houses. Ken Brand (see Watson Fothergill Article for full reference) has these as possibly by Watson Fothergill. It certainly is possible that he was at least responsible for the second floor attics - the date would be the late 1880s.

Gates on Peveril Drive
This is the only entrance to The Park estate from the south. The gates are very rarely used now. Vehicle entry is now controlled by retractable bollards which can be seen a few yards further-on.

Controlled Entry to The Park
These retractable bollards control vehicle access on to The Park estate. At the time I took this (at about half past seven on a Sunday evening) they appeared to be letting all-and-sundry in. Some people who where obviously residents of the estate were showing passes to a camera mounted in the black bollard on the right, but the white bollard was retracting for others who did not appear to be doing that. In this picture both exit an entry bollards are in the process of returning to their full height.
