New Bridge
This new Bridge over the railway between Carlton and Burton Joyce forms part of a relief road which as yet has not been mapped. It has only opened in the last couple of weeks and diverts traffic away from Carlton town centre.

Burton Road bus plug
The bus plug avoids a considerable detour via the Colwick Loop Road Extension. The lights are supposedly only set off by an approaching bus. Note that substantial cycle lanes have been provided; as a cyclist would not trigger the lights to green, the plug cannot be designated for mixed use. The actual road network means that there is a considerable level of abuse of the bus plug by motorists.

Turning facility for former bus plug, Gedling
The small turning facility on the right was installed to enable cars that inadvertently headed along Burton Road rather than the new A612 to turn and avoid the bus plug. However, not long after its inception, the bus plug was opened to all traffic, so the turning facility was unlikely to have seen much use.
