Heckington Railway Station
The original 1849 railway station on the Grantham to Skegness line, now part of the Poacher line from Nottingham to Skegness. The railway sees hourly services and a few trains on a Sunday. Much of the route retains its signal boxes including Heckington. The railway station is now a museum open many days a year, sadly today wasn't one of them. Image]

Train at Heckington
Leaving for Skegness, the trains are often formed of 153 and 156 units from 4-6 carriages to cope with the weekend demand for Skegness. I have known a journey with people standing even on a 6 carriage train on a Sunday afternoon in Winter!
