Not very deep today
The ford at Walcott is not culverted under the road, but the stream is a gentle one so there is not much water. I have seen 3 feet of it here, but not in recent years

The stream at the ford
Between the footbridge over the stream and the concrete roadbed lies this patch of rank overgrown vegetation through which the stream has to struggle. We are looking east along the streambed

Walcot ford
The ford is to be found on the road to Pickworth, just outside Walcot. It is not too deep, and a footbridge on the right is provided for pedestrians. However, on occasions it is a lot deeper - see http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3238722
