Colsterworth: football field
From 1927-32 this was Colsterworth No 2 Quarry. The pitch is lower than Old Post Lane on the right and the footpath behind the trees in the centre. The former quarry face shows clearly behind the goalposts. This was a much shallower quarry than the later ones at Colsterworth and Woolsthorpe. See other photos nearby for more on the Colsterworth quarries and associated railways.
