The name suggests that this was built for the agent of the Denton Manor estate, an important local office. The house dates from the early 17th century with the nearer extension and the flat-roofed part being 19th and 20th century additions. Listed Grade II*.

Garden gateway
This gate, in the wall of the adjacent "Agent's House", is a grade II* listed building in its own right (see https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1062341?section=official-listing ). It originates from the 17th century but was blocked in the 19th, and the seat fitted.
