West Bridgford: George Road
The mock-Tudor styling of the Edwardian houses on the left is an outlandish one for Bridgford, where most middle-sized villas are sober variations on the types on the right. The view is towards Loughborough Road from near the corner of Henry Road.

Henry Road, West Bridgford
Looking south along a street of Victorian semi-detached houses. Built in the days of a pre-car owning society, but it is noticeable that there was just space between the houses to get a garage in at the side [see the two on the left]; an alternative was to use that space to give access to the garden area at the rear for parking see

Henry Road, West Bridgford
Victorian villas in suburban Nottingham. I lived here from 1961-64, initially in the lower flat of no.33 on the left, and then upstairs. There have been changes in the time since then - the two semis appear to have been combined as one property to make three flats, with a drive at the left down to the rear, with tarmacked parking and bin space [we grew vegetables there]; the lower flat of no. 33 is now flat 1 of no. 35; the right hand door leads to a ground floor maisonette, flat 2 of no. 35 [for rent at £650 pcm - I think we paid 10 guineas a month for the upstairs flat]. I presume a third flat is upstairs on the right, accessed by a spiral stair at the south gable.

Ordnance Survey cut mark benchmark levelled at 24.052m above Newlyn Datum. It appears the gatepost has been rebuilt since the mark was cut with the stone bearing the mark moved and inverted
