Nottingham City Transport's Optare Solo no.333 has just left the turning circle to return to town. It fits nicely in the short section of sunlight between the long December shadows.

The blue sign and the figures on the road surface are the only indications that you are entering a 20mph zone. This is the edge of the main built up area.

Adbolton Lane bus turning circle, Lady Bay
This turning circle is located just beyond the end of the housing in Lady Bay, just east of the point at which Trent Boulevard becomes Adbolton Lane. It is currently the terminus of Nottingham City Transport service 11, from Nottingham city centre via the Meadows and Trent Bridge; one of NCT's Optare Solo SRs can be seen laying over before heading back into town.

Double decker in Adbolton Lane turning circle, Lady Bay
Nottingham City Transport operated a Boxing Day bus service on some of its ordinary city routes in 2013, the first time such a service had been run for many years. NCT normally uses midibuses on route 11, which terminates here; however, presumably in case loadings were very high on the limited service operated, on Boxing Day a double decker was used. Appropriately, it was 959, one of NCT's large fleet of Scania/East Lancs OmniDekkas, decorated specially for Christmas.

If these really are barn conversions, a good deal of effort has been expended in disguising their origins, despite the name that rather gives the game away. They are located just east of the edge of the built up area at this point, and within convenient reach of Image
