Houses off Tutt Close, Fernwood
The three buildings farthest away from the camera are former staff houses for Balderton Hospital. The hospital opened in 1957 and closed in 1993. It provided care and support for children and adults with learning disabilities. The Eastdale Unit which provided rehabilitation care for patients from Special Hospitals (especially that at Rampton) stood close to where the photograph was taken.
