Newark Cemetery Gates
The cast iron gateway to Newark-on-Trent Cemetery, on London Road, dates from 1870. Two sets of traceried incurving railings with a main central gateway are flanked by single pedestrian gates. The gates are supported by square skeleton piers with billeted pyramidal caps topped with fleurs de lys. The gates were renewed during the late twentieth century. The structure is Grade II-listed (English Heritage ID:385073 http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-385073-gateway-to-cemetery-chapels-newark-notti British Listed Buildings).
