The Jubilee Bridge, Newark-on-Trent
As its name suggests, Jubilee Bridge was built in the year of Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee year (2002). The bridge is a cable-stayed construction which needs only one tower for normal-sized spans and is becoming a popular design in preference to the traditional suspension bridge design which requires towers on both banks which are anchored to the ground.
