Newark, Notts (Mkt Place)
This 15th century timber-fronted building used to be The Old White Horse Inn. It seems that the whole building was saved from collapse by some extremely skilled restoration work in the 1970s, a process that included establishing the original colouring of the elaborate frontage. Here the observer is treated to a view up Stodman Street which in turn leads onto Castle Gate.
