Industrial building on the River Trent
There is a decidedly Art Deco feel to this building. The supports for the semicircular overhang are covered in graffiti like most of the buildings along this stretch of the river.

Across the Trent
This is one of the less prepossessing stretches of Nottingham's waterfront. I wonder how long it will be before it is redeveloped, as other stretches on the city side of the River Trent have been in recent years.

Downstream from Meadow Lane Lock
The girder bridge is the former Midland Railway bridge, which carried trains to London via Melton Mowbray, Oakham, Corby and Kettering. It is now Lady Bay road bridge. The tower block is on Colwick Road, near where the 44 Bulwell Hall Estate to Colwick trolleybus terminus used to be. It was a grey May morning in Nottingham.

Nottingham Office Equipment, Meadow Lane and the Trent
A view from Lady Bay Bridge, taken on a sunny June morning. Road access to these businesses is from Meadow Lane - and two of the floodlights and part of Notts County's Meadow Lane ground show in the background.

Cattle Market gates
This is the exit onto Meadow Lane. There is heavy traffic on this road which is why there is a restriction on its use by large vehicles. The alternative gate is much easier to negotiate. Although the Cattle Market has been closed for many years, the fine cast iron gate posts with bulls' heads and the wrought iron gates have been retained and refurbished.
