Harby postbox
Following the closure of the Post Office http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/44001 the George V postbox was re-sited by the Village Hall in September 2008

Harby Post Office postbox (ref. NG23 169)
One of many rural locations where the Post Office to which the box name refers no longer exists. In this particular case, the box had to be removed from its original location. Following local pressure, the original GR wall box was retained rather than being replaced by a modern box. It is located adjacent to the village hall.

This house is unusual in being built in grey gault brick rather than the generally ubiquitous red brick of the area. It also displays the mid-19th century preference for slate roofing.
