Interesting power circuitry at Staythorpe
The left and right and pylons form part of a direct link between Cottam and Radcliffe-on-Trent power stations. One circuit runs direct via the pylon in the centre, while the other is fed in and out of the switching station. The two heavy pylons visible either side of the central pylon are fed underground from the switching station (to prevent conflict with the passing circuit) and represent the start of other circuits heading towards Mansfield and West Burton Power Station respectively.
