This used to be a branch of the Co-op. As a boy when I was getting under my mother's feet she would send me the 3.5km from Barnby across the fields to purchase some trivial item here.

Former public house in Claypole
The For Sale sign gives just a tiny hint of the one time pub sign. In the 1970s Claypole had three pubs. Now despite a more than doubling of the size of the population only one remains.
