Trent Bridge: restoration of The Town Arms
The former Town Arms had a couple of changes of name and has been empty for some time. It is now being refurbished and will be known as The Riverbank. Trent flood marks are incised on the retaining wall straight ahead.

Trent Bridge, River Trent and The City Ground
Nottingham Forest's ground seen through an arch of Trent Bridge. Evidence of the widening of the bridge in the 20th Century can be seen in the different styles of ribs under the arch. The newer ones are nearer the camera.

Trent Bridge
Looking towards the City of Nottingham. The building immediately ahead is a landmark for travellers into the city; it was long known as the Town Arms but has had other names in recent years - the last being Casa. It is currently boarded up.

Trent Bridge: the rowing clubs' Great War Memorial
The memorial reads: "To the Glory of God and in grateful memory of the members of the four rowing clubs of this city who died for their country in The Great War". The second name is that of the air ace Captain Albert Ball VC, DSO (2 bars).

Turney Court and Trent Bridge
The building to the left, now flats, was originally Turney Brothers' Trent Bridge Leather Works. At about 8.30 on an overcast Spring Bank Holiday Monday there was next to no traffic over Trent Bridge - quite a contrast with working days. The buildings in the centre of the picture, and Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, are on the other side of the river.

Trent Bridge, commemorative plaque.
This records the opening of the rebuilt bridge in 1873. The positioning, on the outside face of the northern abutment pier, does however make it hard to read!
