"Village Centre", Farnsfield, Notts.
The former Maltings (built c.1800) in New Hill now form “The Village Centre” that houses a part-time public library and rentable function rooms for use by local clubs, societies, organisations and groups. After WWII the hall was purchased by a local benefactor, converted into a Youth Centre and given in trust to the local Anglican church. In the 1950s the hall was used for meetings and gatherings and also housed a gym and boxing club. In the 1980s various substantial improvements were achieved and the library opened in part of it. At this point it ceased to be held in trust by St Michael’s Church and became the responsibility of the Parish Council. During the 1980s £200,000 was spent on adapting it into a modern village hall.

Farnsfield Methodist Church
The main chapel building was built around 1830 to replace an earlier chapel (on a different site) which had become too small. The frontage is a later addition. The gateways either side gave access to a day school which continued in use up to 1968.
