Lancaster crew memorial
Memorial in the churchyard of Milton Mausoleum in memory of six crew killed when their Lancaster bomber crashed nearby. On 3rd December 1943, DV334 took off from RAF Bardney at 16.45 for a bombing raid on Berlin, returning home in fog and out of fuel, the pilot attempted to land at RAF Gamston but crash landed at Milton Clayton at 00.29 Pilot Officer K E Warwick - Pilot Flight Sergeant T Butterfield - Bomb Aimer Sergeant J Graham - Navigator Sergeant R E Jones - Mid Upper Air Gunner Sergeant R W Davison - Flight Engineer Sergeant D I T Munn - Wireless Operator & Air Gunner were killed Sergeant C W A Rickards and Flight Sergeant L B Owen (RCAF) were seriously injured.

Milton Mausoleum
Designed by Sir Robert Smirke and built in 1832 in memory of the Duchess of Newcastle, Georgiana Mundy. This became the new church for West Markham, but the old church was reinstated in 1949. The Mausoleum is now in the care of The Churches Conservation Trust.
