This transmission line comes up from Ratcliffe Power Station and is a main feeder for the City. Formerly there was a power station here too, originally developed by Nottingham Corporation.

Switching station at Electric Avenue
This has been extensively rebuilt with modern equipment on the last 12 months, giving it a much less intrusive profile. The previous equipment was essentially left over from the time when it was attached to the old Clifton Power Station, which stood to the left of the picture. Electric Avenue is a reminder of its existence.
