View northward, towards Worksop: ex-Midland Nottingham - Mansfield - Worksop line, closed 12/10/64. The route was reopened as the Robin Hood Line, Nottingham - Newstead 8/5/93, on to Mansfield Woodhouse 20/11/95, to Worksop 6/98. This station was built new in 6/98, ½ mile north of the old station, which closed 12/10/64. (Cf, Image]).

Langwith-Whaley Thorns railway station, Nottinghamshire
Opened in 1998 by British Rail on the 'Robin Hood' line from Nottingham to Worksop. View north towards Cresswell and Worksop. When the line was reopened to passengers, the original Langwith station (sited around half a mile behind the camera position) stayed closed, and was effectively replaced by this one.
