Mansfield Woodhouse NG19, Notts.
Oxclose Lane continues for a metre or so under this railway bridge (Ref PB S3-39) after which it peters out at the gates of a former factory site that now houses a caravan storage facility. Beyond the former "works" entrance walkers are able to reach Oxclose Wood a country park type facility (albeit not designated as such) that has been established on the site of the former Sherwood Colliery. On the left, behind the photographer's shoulder is an asphalted footpath providing access to Mansfield Wood railway station. Directly behind Oxclose Lane soon 'becomes' Park Road. In terms of the railway, this bridge carries rail traffic on The Robin Hood Line towards Shirebrook on the right and within minutes, into Mansfield Woodhouse railway station on the left.
