Statue of Harold Larwood
Harold Larwood was born in Nuncargate, played cricket for Nottinghamshire and England and took part in the "Bodyline" Tour of Australia in 1932. He is buried in Sydney where he lived from the 1950s.

Statue of Harold Larwood, Kirkby Market Place
One of Kirkby in Ashfield's most famous sons, Harold Larwood was born nearby in Nuncargate in 1904. Best known for his unconventional bowling in the Ashes Test series of 1932-33.
He later emigrated to Australia, where he died on 22 July 1995 (aged 90).
