Commemorates the men and women of Sutton in Ashfield who died in WW2. This plaque and the memorial gates are quite a contrast to the WW1 memorial in the adjacent cemetery Image

Gates to St Mary Magdalene Church
Looking north to the church porch. These gates are unusual because they were erected as a memorial to those who perished in World War II. The pillars list the individual names and the inscription "These gates were erected by public subscription in grateful memory of those men and women of this town who laid down their lives in the World War 1939-1945". Church of St Mary Magdalene, Sutton-in-Ashfield
Early 18th century gravestone in the churchyard. I was informed by the priest at the church that this is listed, but it turns out that the listing is for a different stone. The inscription is simple and quite crude, and difficult to assign to particular individuals.
