Sutton-in-Ashfield - The Picture House
This Wetherspoon pub was built as the King's Cinema in 1932. A casualty of the general decline in cinema use in the 1960s, King's Cinema closed down in 1967. Within a few weeks, it reopened to a full house as the Star Bingo and Social Club. The bingo hall survived into the 1990s, and, more recently, was used as the Picture House Night Club. The building re-opened as a Wetherspoon pub on 22 Feb 2000. The above information obtained from http://www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk/home/pubs/the-picture-house-sutton-in-ashfield . For more information, please see http://cinematreasures.org/theaters/24493 .Wetherspoon have recently converted a former cinema to a pub in neighbouring Kirkby-in-Ashfield - see Image

The Picture House, Sutton in Ashfield
Built as the King's Cinema in 1932. Its history has been that of many a cinema becoming a bingo hall in 1967 and then a nightclub. It became a pub in 2000.

Sutton-in-Ashfield - solicitors' offices in northern corner of Market Place
This is No 1 Low Street and is occupied by Fidler & Pepper. The building has the look of a bank, but I have been unable to find out which one. Lindley's 1907 History of Sutton-in-Ashfield (http://www.nottshistory.org.uk/suttoninashfield1907/sutton10.htm ) mentions three banks having their premises in the Albert Square / Market Place / Low Street area. These were the Nottingham & Nottinghamshire Bank, Crompton & Evans Bank and Union of London & Smiths Bank.
