'Read All About It Robin', Hoodwinked 2018, Chapel Bar
'Hoodwinked: a twist on the tale' was a city-wide art project that ran from July 7th to September 30th, with 33 large plastic robins placed around the city on a walking trail. Each bird was decorated with a particular theme relating to where they were placed and the businesses sponsoring them. The theme of robins was chosen due to the city's famous connection with the legendary outlaw, Robin Hood. This bird was titled 'Read All About It Robin', was sponsored by the Nottingham Post and was designed by the Nottingham Playhouse Paintshop Team. It celebrated the city's newspaper, the Nottingham Post.

70 Long Row and 2-6 Chapel Bar, Nottingham
Pevsner describes these four early C20th facades as "lively if battered". They look related, particularly in the nice sequence of pediments, alternating between segmental and triangular. Dinky no. 2, largely obscured by a tree, is by W.B. Starr, 1908, and no. 4, with decorative windows, is by John Howitt & Son, 1908.

Holiday Inn Express, Nottingham
This impressive glass and steel building sits at the end of Chapel Bar on a busy roundabout. The Reflections are of a 70's office block (that I can't remember the name of) which dominates the roundabout and the brick Co-op building. Many more fine photographs of the latter can be found here: http://www.nottingham21.co.uk/build_coop_1.htm
