3-5 Market Street, Nottingham
Market Street was cut through in 1865 and is lined with buildings mostly put up during the following decade. This French-tinged pair are probably c1870 and typically full of ornament. Grade II listed.

Above the former Habitat shop-front
Here it can clearly be seen that the former Nottingham Habitat shop inhabited two properties. The premises have been empty since the Habitat liquidation in June 2011.

View from the Eye (11)
A tram disappears up Market Street. In front of this the former Griffin and Spalding department store, now Debenhams. The involvement of the City Council in bringing the wheel to nottingham is evident!

Water bed

Bikes and tram at Beastmarket Hill
A northbound tram is about to growl up Market Street towards the Theatre Royal at the top of the hill. The Debenham's store (once Nottingham's most celebrated, Griffin & Spalding) is on the right, behind the tram's pantograph.

Yates's, Long Row West, Nottingham
Classic Victorian 'gin palace' public house, dated 1876 but on the site of a long-standing inn. Listed Grade II.
The appearance is much improved from my 2007 view https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/318503 with the removal of the late 20th century first floor screen.
