View northward, towards Chesterfield etc., taken from a Down express. Yet another typical sample of the traffic on the busy ex-Midland Erewash Valley main line, here with LMS Fowler 4F 0-6-0 No. 44321 (built 1927, withdrawn 11/64).

Langley Mill railway station, Derbyshire
Opened in 1847 by the Midland Railway on the line from Nottingham to Chesterfield, this station closed to passengers in 1967. For most of its existence it was known as Langley Mill & Eastwood.
It was rebuilt and reopened in 1986. View north towards Codnor Park and Chesterfield. The southbound platform on the far side of the underbridge, is on the site of the original station.
