Hucknall - Nottinghamshire
Two churches can be seen on the other side of Watnall Road (B6009) in this picture that was taken from the Police Station forecourt obliquely opposite, albeit that the nearest one has been converted into a shop. Given that the other church in the picture is Watnall Road Baptist Church and that the other traditional Christian denominations have their own premises elsewhere in Hucknall, it has proved difficult to date to deduce who owned and used this particular church in the past.

Old gas lamp
I'm not sure how old this is, but the reference to a barbers Shop certainly predates the current use of the building which is a sports trophies shop.

Corner shop
A little stone built shop in otherwise brick-built surroundings. Note the nice lamp on the corner. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1906417 .

Hucknall, NG15
Beardall Nursery, Infants and Junior School on Beardall Street, with Watnall Lane behind the photographer. This school is reputed to be one of the oldest former Elementary Schools in the area. The original sandstone premises were built circa 1872 at a cost of nearly £2,000. On the distant left hand corner, where a white car can be seen waiting to pull out from Duke Street into Beardall Street, is the birth place and home of Eric Coates - "The Uncrowned King (Composer) of Light Music". Although he also played the viola, he is probably best known for his composition "By the Sleepy Lagoon" (1930) that is still used to introduce the "Desert Island Discs" on Radio 4 and for "The Dambusters March" (1954), from the film "The Dambusters".

Hucknall Baptist Church
A fine display of Victorian Gothic-inspired architecture, dating from MDCCCLXXVL according to the date stone http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1906378 . Presumably a mistake for 1876.
