Bleasby station
On the line between Nottingham and Lincoln, opened in 1846 and amazingly still open, despite the very low numbers of passengers who use it. The platforms are offset either side of the level crossing for safety reasons. The station building may currently be empty.

Not stopping here
This train (2-car diesel unit 158 788) may look as if it has stopped at Bleasby Station, but it is in fact one of the faster trips between Nottingham and Lincoln, stopping only at selected stations. This view is taken from the Nottingham-bound platform, showing how the two platforms are well staggered on either side of the level crossing.

Newly cut
Referring not to the wood in the immediate foreground but the drainage ditch beyond. Remarkably the material dug out has not simply been dumped at the side of the ditch. To the right of the ditch is a public footpath.
