Entrance to Bulcote Lodge Farm
The signage hereabouts leaves one in no doubt as to which way the public bridleway does not go.

Bridleway south of Bulcote Lodge Farm
Despite its elevation up the side of the Trent valley (over sixty metres above sea level), this bridleway turned out to have retained a lot of water. In particular, the puddle visible not too far away proved challenging to pass, as the fence is surmounted with barbed wire and the hedgerow is very thorny. Thankfully, all I had to show for having negotiated it was very muddy boots and a couple of thorns in my hand.

Two gates west of Bulcote Lodge Farm
The state of the field gate appears to render the kissing gate redundant. The sign indicates a public footpath through the latter; the farm track is a public bridleway as well as an access road for Bulcote Lodge Farm, whose buildings are visible in the distance.

Track to the monitoring post
This looks as if it is the marked footpath to Lambley, but in fact that is on the far side of the hedge. The clump of trees marks the monitoring post itself Image Update 2020: The situation in early 2020 is that the footpath now is on the western (near) side of the hedge. The trees in front of the ROC post have been removed.

Lambley ROC observation post
Much less hemmed in with trees than when I visited in 2009 https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1167932 , although still well overgrown. The further ventilator is just visible.
