Cottages opposite Shaftesbury Avenue
Clearly several cottages have been combined here. Detailed maps show that everything to the right of the bush just in front of the buildings is a single property.

Shaftesbury Avenue
The apartments to the left have been built on land that clearly formerly belonged to the Nottingham Corporation Waterworks. This can be seen from the fact that the brick wall with its decorative gateposts is continuous with the part of the site still in use for pumping. (compare Image)

Manager's house
This would have been the dwelling for the manager of the waterworks. These were built by the Nottingham Corporation Waterworks in 1898 and are now operated by Severn Trent Water.
