Crock Dumble in the Autumn
Crock Dumble flows from a spring in the hills to the N. of the village, to the River Trent. It frequently floods but never dries up. Frogs, toads, sticklebacks and, sometimes, ducks live here. Sometimes a kingfisher pays a visit.

Rose Cottages
Recreating this 'First' for the square http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/43275 . This row of cottages was originally called Top Row and was built with framework knitters' workshops at a time when that was become a widespread local home-work industry.
