Aslockton Station, waiting shelter

Aslockton railway station, Nottinghamshire, 1983
Opened in 1850 on (what became) the Great Northern railway's line from Grantham to Nottingham. This was the station house, and level crossing with traditional wooden gates, view south west from Main Street. See Image] for a more recent view.

Grantham to Nottingham train passing Aslockton
Although nearly 4 o'clock in the afternoon, being a Sunday, this is the first train of the day of the Skegness - Nottingham service (dep Grantham 1540, and not stopping at Aslockton). It consists of a pair of class 153 railcars.
