The corner of Thurland Street and Pelham Street
The Thurland Hall, in the centre of the picture, was built from 1898-1900 and retains many late-Victorian features. The red-brick building with lancet windows was built for the "Nottingham Journal" in 1860. A plaque above the shopfronts records that J M Barrie worked for the paper for a year in the 1880s.
