Bus turnround
One of the requirements of the agreement to develop Saxondale Hospital for residential purposes was to provide for public transport. However, the location meant that it was never going to be possible to integrate it into main routes, so it only receives a relatively infrequent service.

Bus turning circle, Upper Saxondale
This turning circle, off Henson Lane, is a lot icier than the main road through the village; since buses merely call in on their way through, rather than actually needing to turn round, I suspect they have been playing it safe and stopping on the main road.
