Radcliffe-on-Trent, Notts.
With Main Street behind the photographer, this is the view along Shelford Road in the direction of the railway station and Shelford. By 1864 the Primitive Methodists in Radcliffe had purchased the Independent Methodists' former chapel, eventually replacing it with this "new" chapel in 1893. From 1953 all the Methodist-style services have been held in this the Primitive Methodists' building, except during 1971-76 when local churchgoers took part in an experiment to unite Anglicans and Methodists and all services were held in St Mary’s.
