Avenue A, Sneinton Market, Nottingham
Looking towards Southwell Road. Sneinton Market is now undergoing upgrading and redevelopment. The aim of the plan is to make Sneinton Market a focal point of the Creative Quarter with the empty units along three of the avenues being revamped into workshops and studios. Wates has been appointed by Nottingham City Council to refurbish three of the five 'avenues' at Sneinton Market, funded through a £2.44m European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) grant and a further £1.45m from the City Council. The first phase of the refurbishment will be complete in April 2015, with full completion of the project scheduled for the end of 2015.

Nottingham - NG1 (Sneinton)
A view of one of the interconnecting corridors between the avenues of sheds on this former Wholesale Fruit and Vegetable Market site, circa 1900 & updated in 1938. Many of the single units and/or clusters of them are still operational whilst others are boarded up. The potential of this site as a "Covent Garden-type" development/resurrection opportunity has been recognised and currently the word-on-the-street is that Northern Rock (now owned by Virgin Money Personal Financial Service Ltd) have purchased the rights to redevelop it.
