Plumptre Almshouses and Hospital
This building was built in 1823 and stands on Poplar Street although this street has now been absorbed into a busy one way system. The almshouses were founded in 1392 by John de Plumptre, a merchant and mayor of Nottingham. The charity is still in existence although it moved out of the building in 1991. In 2001 the building was occupied by the National Institute for the Blind.
