Nobel Road
One of the later sections of the Clifton Estate, the roads off the main spine commemorate a variety of Nobel Prize winners. Dorothy Hodgkin was a pioneer of X-ray crystallography, and gained her prize, in Chemistry, for her work in determining the structures of penicillin and Vitamin B12.

Entrance to Fox Covert Lane off the A453
This bridleway runs straight into the A453. Access to Clifton on the opposite side of the road is barred by security fencing. The hapless walker has no apparent alternative other than walking several hundred yards along the narrow verge of this nightmarishly busy road to reach footpaths further down.

Fox Covert Lane
This is a private road to a farm, but with access also for singling club members. As it is also a public bridleway, provision is made for riders and pedestrians to pass the gate when it is shut. The gateway has had to be moved a few metres to create access to the new construction site for the A453 widening.

On Nobel Road, at the corner of Gabor Close. The roads off Nobel Road are all named after individual Nobel Prize winners. Dennis Gabor, originally from Hungary, did most of his work in the UK and won the Physics prize in 1971 for his invention of the hologram.
