Nottingham - NG11 (Wilford Village)
A view of the 'green space' and one of the two overspill cemeteries near to St Wilfrid's Church. The original vicarage lies behind the photographer. There appears to be a mounting block at the corner of the building on the left? Also, at the 'turn' of right-hand branch of the driveway, a humped pathway leading down to the river is visible next to the end of the stone wall.

Nottingham - NG11 (Wilford Village)
Several chunks of precious 'green space' have been preserved on the sides of the drive that connects the car park with the gates of St Wilfrid's Church. The parish office is situated in this row of old buildings. The church is situated behind the photographer and two overspill cemeteries can be found on the right.

Nottingham - NG11 (Wilford Village)
A view of the car park shared by users of the parish church and the village hall. The entrance to the "New Vicarage" is via the open gate. The parish office is situated in the central section of the row of older buildings. It certainly looks as though there is plenty of space here for outdoor functions?

This part of Wilford still gives the impression of a village but suburbia is close at hand.

Wilford: rectory gables and slate headstones
Wilford Rectory dates from c. 1700. St Wilfrid's churchyard has a fine collection of Swithland slate headstones, which looked especially grey on a drab Easter Saturday morning.

This is the parsonage referred to here,
Image, together with the Dove coat, and off-picture to the right either the barn or stables. The house probably dates from the early 18th century.
