Framework Knitters Museum - coal store, privies etc
At the southern end of the yard, beyond the workshops. This is the only surviving example of a purpose-built knitters yard, once common in this part of the East Midlands. It was built in 1829. The Framework Knitters Museum covers both industrial and social history and is well worth visiting. Open February to December Wednesdays to Saturdays, plus Sundays from April to September.

The Framework Knitter's Museum
This shows the buildings that house the frames on which the people who live in this area carried out their daily grind. They worked twelve to fourteen hours a day in a cramped and noisy environment. This all looks far more pleasant than it would have been in the years between 1829 and 1929 when the work was carried out.

Chapel Street
The chapel is opposite rather than in the street. The last house on the left is the Framework Knitters Museum, recording the local stocking knitting activities and well worth a visit.
