Iconic building under wraps
The grade II listed York Chambers building is currently undergoing restoration funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. It often features in articles about the town see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_Eaton and

Personally I think it looks a lot better like this.

Iconic building revealed again
This building is perhaps Long Eaton's most distinctive. It is Grade II listed (LEN 1334838) http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1334838 .
I'm not a fan and think it looks better here http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1908981 .

York Chambers, 38/40 Market Place, Long Eaton
Gable end of No.38. A Frith photo of the 1950s shows that this originally had the name York Chambers in relief, just visible as a change of texture, and that there was more decoration in the semicircle.

Long Eaton Post Office
The main post office in Long Eaton has moved about quite a bit in the last few years. Previous to here it was in the large Co-op on Main Street. When that closed it moved to this location on the corner of Market Place and Regent Street, which had just been vacated by The Yorkshire Bank.

The Poppy appeal
I wasn't going to submit this as
Image was more the view I wanted. But as soon as I opened it up I saw that I had to. I bought a poppy a minute or two later and the seller insisted (as he was doing with every one) that he pin it on me. The woman delving in her purse bought one just before me for the girl with her. I just wish I'd got a picture that expressed the bounce in the girl's step as she walked off, proud of her poppy.
