'The Family', Gateshead Civic Centre
Three sculptures, depicting the three ages of man: childhood, maturity Image and old age Image, located in the landscaped grounds aptly near the Office of Births, Marriages and Deaths at Gateshead Civic Centre, at the north-east corner near the junction of Charles Street and High West Street. The sculptures of paired figures in affectionate poses, entitled 'The Family', were carved in Shap limestone by Gordon Young, and were unveiled in 1991.
