Entrance to Easington Quarry
Entrance to the former Easington Quarry off the B1342. Although marked on maps as Easington Quarry, with most references to it being by that name, an alternative name is shown on the board, Belford Quarry. The board also states the quarry as being "temporarily closed", although the appearance of the quarry site sitelf, would suggest that the use of the word "temporarily" could be stretching a point. However it is included in the "Northumberland Local Plan - Site appraisals for aggregate minerals" dated June 2018 as a candidate for reopening, so there would seem to be a possibility of the "temporary" closure coming to an end at some point.
