Former Co-operative Society Building, Heaton Road, Newcastle upon Tyne
This building is a super well preserved example of late 19th century former Co-operative buildings, giving this section of Heaton Road tremendous character although slightly spoilt by the modern shop frontages. Built in 1892, the building is three storeys high, with brick being the dominant material used although some stone has been used as decoration for the windows. Between the first and second floors there is a fine stone inscription which reads, ‘Newcastle upon Tyne Cooperative Society Limited, Heaton Road Branch, Registered Office 117 Newgate Street’.

St. Cuthbert's Church, Heaton Road/Cardigan Terrace, Newcastle upon Tyne
This is a United Reformed and Methodist Partnership church, formerly Presbyterian, and it stands on the corner of Heaton Road and Cardigan Terrace. The church was built in 1895/96 to a design by Newcastle architect W. L Newcombe, and was described in the 1992 edition of Pevsner's, 'Buildings of England Northumberland' as having a "polygonal turret just left of the doorway, aisles with cross-gables and late Early English [style] tracery".
