To view a Northern Mockingbird
A Northern Mockingbird (Mimus polyglottos) in a garden of a house in Manor Drive, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, viewed from an adjacent yard and parking area off Front Street. This is an exceptionally rare North American vagrant and probably the same individual recorded in January/February at Exmouth and April in West Sussex. The bird was present at this unlikely Northumberland location from 5 May and last seen on 9 May. This photograph was taken at approximately 1540 hrs.

Nevins Nibbles Cafe, Newbiggin by the Sea
Formerly Bertorelli’s cafe, Nevins Nibbles keep this lovely art deco building in good use. Serving over 90 different types of scones, including curry, mince and dumpling, corned beef and beetroot as well as the more traditional fruit and cheese varieties - we had fruit, not very imaginative but very nice. The owner tells us that he will soon be supplying all his scones via mail order
